Overview

Accounts Payable Clerk

Location: Newcastle (Hybrid working)

Salary: £24,675 to £26,250 (dependent on experience)

Working hours: 37.5 per week

 

We are seeking an enthusiastic ‘Accounts Payable Clerk’ to join our team in a hybrid role. If you are based in the North East, and are looking for a flexible role, we would love to hear from you.

 

In this position, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate recording of supplier invoices and timely payments in accordance with Lookers' policies.

Responsibilities

  • Accurate and timely registration of invoices authorised according to the authority matrix
  • Ensuring timely payment runs and responding promptly to supplier queries
  • Ensure accurate recovery of input VAT
  • Perform monthly supplier statement reconciliation
  • Maintaining timely closure of purchase ledger at month end in accordance with management accounts deadlines

Qualifications

Experience:

Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential, along with a natural analytical ability and keen attention to detail. Strong commercial acumen and customer focus are also important. While prior experience in Accounts is a plus, it is not essential. The ideal candidate will be able to think creatively when resolving issues and have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
