Overview

Lookers Nissan Newcastle

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Salary: up to £42,600 OTE (including £30,000 to £34,000 basic depending on qualifications, plus an additional £2,000 for EV qualification and £6,000 bonus, uncapped earnings)

Hours: (42 hours per week) On a rota basis Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm with one late finish of 17:30, and 1 in 4 Saturdays 8:00am - 12:30pm

 

Lookers Nissan Newcastle are recruiting for a Service Technician to join their fantastic workshop. While working alongside a team of experienced technicians, you will play a vital role carrying out services, MOTs or general repairs in line with manufacturer guidelines, and liaising with the Diagnostic Technicians and Master Technician for guidance when dealing with complex issues.

Our Service Manager, Mark Butler has worked at Nissan Newcastle for over thirty years, starting out as an apprentice on the tools to progressing to service manager, and is who you will be reporting to. Responsibilities

  • Carrying out vehicle health checks using the latest technology 
  • Conducting vehicle service in accordance with manufacturers guidelines and customer requests
  • Carrying out any additional repairs once authorised by the customer
  • Warranty repairs are per the manufacturer’s guidelines and relevant write up is complete
  • Taking the customers vehicle out on a road test to ensure all faults are rectified
  • Complete all relevant paperwork to a high standard 
  • Carrying out MOT tests in line with ministry guidelines

Qualifications

The ideal candidate to be considered for this role will have minimum NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent, motor industry experience (brand or non-brand), and a full and valid UK driving licence. You’ll be self-motivated whilst being able to support your team, ambitious and eager to learn, and are able to work to and maintain the highest of standards to all vehicles that take a spin through our doors.

 

The salary range for this vacancy is between £30,000 for a Level 3 qualified Technician up to £34,000 for a Senior Technician, plus an additional £2,000 for EV qualification and up to £6,000 uncapped bonus.
