Overview

Location: Colchester Ford
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00 
Salary: £23,100 – £26,250 per annum (depending on experience)

 

Due to continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our friendly and supportive team at Lookers Ford Colchester. Reporting directly to the Dealership Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the finance operations across our Ford dealerships.

About the Role:

As a Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will be responsible for a range of accounting duties that are essential to the day-to-day financial operations of our business. Your role will involve managing and maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely processing of invoices, and building strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Registering and processing supplier invoices

  • Maintaining and reconciling the company’s purchase ledger

  • Reviewing and maintaining POA (Payment on Account) records

  • Reconciling supplier accounts and statements

  • Ensuring the accurate and timely processing of documentation

  • Liaising with internal management teams and external suppliers

  • Supporting month-end close procedures related to purchase ledger

About You:

We are looking for someone with previous experience in a purchase ledger or finance-related role. Ideally, you will have:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organisational abilities and the capability to work to tight deadlines

  • Experience within the motor trade is advantageous but not essential
